Another fine and very warm summer's day in store for many parts of the UK but changes are afoot as a deepening area of low pressure out over the North Atlantic winds itself up, this system helping to drive a weak cold front eastwards tonight and tomorrow introducing cooler and fresher air from the west for the end of the week.
Back to this morning and there are some areas of mist and low cloud around, especially across northern and eastern England along with parts of Scotland, but generally many places have dawned fine and warm this morning and for most places it will be a fine day with plenty of hot sunshine. Temperatures will be higher as a result with maximums widely in the range of 26°C to 30°C across England and Wales but it will be cooler in coastal areas where sea breezes develop, perhaps bringing some sea mist and fog ashore.
There will be some cloud bubbling up at times, especially towards the north and west with many parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland seeing bright or sunny spells rather than unbroken sunshine, and thickening cloud moving into western Ireland later will bring outbreaks of rain with it as that cold front approaches. Temperatures here will not be as warm with maximums generally in the high teens or low twenties and it is likely to be rather cool under cloudier skies towards northeast Scotland.
A few heavy showers may break out over higher parts of northern England and Scotland this evening as a band of rain and freshening winds pushes eastwards across Ireland and Northern Ireland, that rain becoming lighter and more patchy with time. It remains fine and warm overnight for central and eastern regions with tomorrow looking like being another very warm day for eastern and south-eastern England but cooler, fresher air will be moving in from the west during the course of the day along with a few scattered showers, especially in the west and northwest where it will be windy.
