The final weekend of June isn't looking too bad for many parts of the country despite low pressure never being too far away. There will be plenty of dry weather around for many places but for some it will be disappointingly dull and damp today.
Starting with the dull and damp weather and it is an overcast start to the day across much of Ireland, Wales and northern England with outbreaks of rain and drizzle pushing in from the southwest. This band of damp weather won't move far today so for these regions there will be little change although some drier spells will develop at times.
Meanwhile, to the north and south it will be a much brighter day with some good spells of strong sunshine and for much of southern and south-eastern England it will remain dry throughout. It will also be mainly dry for much of Northern Ireland and southern Scotland, but for central and northern regions of Scotland there will be more cloud with scattered showers feeding in from the west, these most frequent in the north and west where it remains on the breezy side.
There will be a wide range of temperatures across the country with maximums in the north and west and under the cloud across central regions in the range of 15°C to 18°C, but across sunnier parts of southeast England it will be quite muggy with highs of 22°C to 24°C.
The showers continue across northern Scotland tonight, perhaps affecting other western coasts at times as that area of cloud and increasingly patchy rain across central regions slips slowly southwards across England and Wales. It will be mainly dry elsewhere and this takes us into a largely dry day for many places tomorrow. There will be a fair amount of cloud at times though and this could bring the odd shower but many places will escape these.
