Good morning folks... A fair start to the week, with about 75-80% cloud cover, so some pleasant splashes of sunshine. Thermometers are showing 13°, and the barometer is up to 1015 mBar.
There's quite a fresh Sou'Westerly keeping the vane and anemometer happy and the humidity is down to 65%. Visibility is good at 7+ miles (my limited view) , the air quality is good, with an index of 40 and the Jackdaws are loving the latest batch of 'insect pellets' I put out for them this morning.!!
...and on this day, in 1998, David Hempleman-Adams became the first person to conquer adventuring's grand slam' when he reached the North Pole. He had walked to both Poles and climbed the highest peaks on all seven continents... (I have difficulties climbing a flight of stairs..!!🤭)

A pleasant morning so far after yesterdays washout. The northerly wind has disappeared and it feels much warmer with the southerly breeze taking its place. No sign of any rain although looking ahead the forecast for next weekend is for wall to wall rain. Two main tasks today - trying to open the boot of Mrs PJ's car which is jammed (nothing to do with Mrs PJ I'm told - it jammed all on its own !!) and then into the garden to do some weeding.

Good morning, all. I’m just about to type that it’s full cloud and grey when we have a little sun break through. It’s milder than of late, and feels it, looking forward to some more warmth building in the next few days 😊. That’s after the rain coming in this afternoon and overnight has cleared off of course. Have a good day, everyone.

Bore da, no sun this morning but the temperature is back into double figures. The southerly breeze isn’t as biting as previous days, shame about the overnight rain but I’m beginning to learn that we can’t have everything we wish for weather wise. As we’re both stuck isolating due to Mr W’s covid, I missed out on the school walk this morning contenting myself with a wave as she raced past to get to school, gates open at ten to nine, she thinks she is late if she’s not waiting for the teacher to unlock them. Mr W was quite touched by the good wishes sent by fellow metcheckers, he’s not feeling too bad thanks to covid jabs which don’t prevent infection but do ensure that any symptoms are minimal. Thankfully the days when covid caused major health problems are in the past.

Good morning. Bright n' breezy here this morning. Just some high cloud around and a stiff breeze from the South. After a cool start it is warming up quickly now. Must have been a little rain overnight as grass decidedly wet again this morning and puddles lingering after yesterdays rain.

Whoah! How clever is this? The Metcheck Thunderstorm Tracker Satellite allows you to see the developing storms across Western Europe and tells you whether they are growing or decaying. Every 15 minutes we take a snapshot of the cloud cover then measure the temperature and height of the clouds and show you whether the area of clouds are developing into thunderstorms and what direction they are moving in.

You probably hear a lot about the Jet Stream in the news. It's either too far North or too far South. The jet stream is identified as winds at 300mb (during Winter) and 200mb (during Summer). It is these winds which are responsible for driving and developing weather systems across the Atlantic.
