There are some showers hovering to our south and west at the moment with a change approaching. Maybe a thunderstorm overnight with a mild low of 15 c , tomorrow showers are expected with a southerly wind and a high temperature of 20 c . Currently it still a mild 18.7 c with light wind !

Today has been very warm for this time of the year , the sun still feeling " biting" if you are in it. Some suburbs of Sydney made it up to 28 c , Penrith was 25.6 c and I recorded 22.4 c here at home ! High cloud increased and we had a lot of scraggly looking cumulus during the day , as I said though , the sun had some bite . Still feeling pleasant now as sunset approaches !

Evening all...it turned really nice by late afternoon with good fair spells. However, by 6pm it did start to cloud up with quite a heavy shower around 7pm.

Afternoon all...it's still not warm (almost a perfect temperature that DYLAN has ๐) but it's certainly a lot brighter (which isn't difficult after earlier). A current value of 10.0c with the breeze also 10mph from the WSW.

When Metcheckers aren't getting their latest weather fix on the site they tend to be taking stunning pictures of clouds. After all, we all love looking at beautiful sunsets, mist on a spiders web and clouds shaped like thingies don't we?

Whoah! How clever is this? The Metcheck Thunderstorm Tracker Satellite allows you to see the developing storms across Western Europe and tells you whether they are growing or decaying. Every 15 minutes we take a snapshot of the cloud cover then measure the temperature and height of the clouds and show you whether the area of clouds are developing into thunderstorms and what direction they are moving in.

You probably hear a lot about the Jet Stream in the news. It's either too far North or too far South. The jet stream is identified as winds at 300mb (during Winter) and 200mb (during Summer). It is these winds which are responsible for driving and developing weather systems across the Atlantic.
